A new blogsite…again?

My hell week is finally over. For now, I can relax for A WHILE while I wait for another like that.

To recall…

Monday… had to go home EARLY to study Accounting.

Tuesday… received my 1st exam in 181. too frigin low. took the first part of my Accounting exam.

Wednesday… prepared everything about the case presentation in 101 with my group.

Thursday… went home again early to prepare for exam the following day. slept really late trying to solve a problem that was not needed.

Friday… dreaded part. case presentation went fine, though i didn’t like how i think i faired in my exam.

And now, I’m just sooooo sleepy.

Tonight, i’m doing a little experiment… I’ll try moving from apache 2 to IIS 5.1. It should be easy but I hope I won’t get into any serious stupid trouble… I should only be reinstalling perl as i already have mysql on my system.(like deleting a whole weblog installation and archive?)

When things that are touted easy seems so much harder… and in complement, those harder seems easier, where does the problem lie?

I failed moving(porting?) my already existing MT and PHP-nuke installations on my newly installed IIS. Well its not that I really haven’t done this in the past but I just felt that there shouldn’t be really any reason for the move when I ran into a first set of errors. After the errors… that was it!

What’s IIS5.1 compared to Apache 2 anyway? :)

BTW, I think I like the new GUI made by EMS that I recently installed. If it’s better than phpmyadmin, I still have to find out.

Philosophizing has almost always never ceased to preoccupy me. I do not even wish to share how I view my world.

Today…

I got up early for an exam.

Endured 3 hours of boredom.

Had a wonderful time reading physics…

Ate.

Got to college back early.

Endured another 3 hours of torture. I got 82.5 in accounting…

And then what?

One that will never last…Though I hope not.

Because the voices in my mind are as certain as change. How do they stop? How do I stop modifying this site frequently?

This is one of the the few times I could be focused enough to think and lay down my thoughts; if there is anything that could be transformed to words at all.

Days have never lapsed this fast recently. I could see myself sharing my body, being part of the crowd again; leaving this communal where the angels are expected in hell. My home expects my presence tomorrow. Studying in this univ is truly exhausting my inner me.

i like it already;

nukecops has started working on a php-nuke 7 bundle! i might do the upgrade before march. unfortunately, my site has already lost the liveliness it always had. I remember the time I had everything working and running at the start. It was sheer optimism and joy that made me work on making it what everyone would always like. At 89 members, the site is almost already dead. But I’m still optimistic.

i needed time and i got it at the wrong time.

Oh my! and i haven’t ported the entries yet. it’s a shame i even have almost everything here at default. Gotta get working!

Finally, i got a domain of my “own.” I’m just a lil fed up with my old host and my old domain name. Somehow, I still think if I’ll just put everything I’ve done on my old site to complete waste… I had invested money and effort into something that I would eventually hate. So much were my expectations…

And now… I’ve completed one whole year as a BAA undergrad student. I feel that I’ve drained up a part of myself. Somehow these few days I’ve been able to relax hasn’t helped that much. I feel that I’ll be bombarded with cards with super low grades soon…

Anyway, I’ve completed copying the tables from my old wp database to this new one. I’ll be skinning this site soon… :)

It’s summer and i only enlisted ba 99.2. 3 units, well i should be enjoying summer, shouldent i?

my site’s uber ugly. no working and fine CSS atm, but i’ll get everything working soon. even if i’ve decided on going the textpattern path again i’m back for the mean time with wordpress. it still ruks and i’ll be staying for as long as i don’t know.

now, i’ve been thinking if i should also go with the bandwagon of the ridiculously irritating blogs i always run into. something like… supah ultra electromagnetically worthless posts. for the ultimate example… oh, forgive me. i can’t. :)

I installed a style switcher for my blog and also put up some nice templates I found from alexking’s site. They do look real nice… This default black style is mine though.

thinking of how i could get enough time to do one lengthy assignment tomorrow gives me enough worrying to not be able to sleep. somehow, i got myself to write this thing and do some mods. how sad… i did nothing all day here and i’ll be back again to UP tomorrow. i’m somehow worthless this summer.

and now everything just seems so fast. a week and two days and we’re on our first exam in ba99.2. the past days were just a breeze. yes i know that it would be scary but i could still hide it… but not now when it’s just two days ahead. feels like having to study history and math17 at the same time. why am i scared? cos three of my close friends got a 5 for it. bernadette sembrano got a 5 too.

was even invited for a group study but i declined. i knew i could do it better on my own. oh well. this summer’ll ultimately decide my fate as a baa undergrad. what have i done all week?!

i remember setting a goal this summer… that i would have mastered php by the end. but now it was just nba live 2k4 and sleeping for me. well, if worrying for the exams would also count. it’s hard when almost everyone around are dqs. lmao. :lol: when would i be urged to study just because my roommate’s studying?

btw, just saw that beta testing for MT has started. as much as i’d like to test it for dona’s, i feel it would be utter waste of time. i remember having to go through the pains of previous betas… but now it is just the time for me.

the wordpress build released last night included a blog by mail fix and i thought it’s time i give 1.2 alpha a try. at least i could finally make entries while on class on how boring it is hearing accounting shit. my photolog is on an earlier alpha version though and i still haven’t fixed some errors on it… yet.

i got rid of fedora core 1 for a while too. even if i have winex and point2play, i just couldn’t make ati’s drivers to work. oh yes… and i’m not alone. all of the releases, even one released long long ago that was recommended to me just crashed X. I remember never having a problem with any of nvidia’s. of course i’m not returning my card. ATI’s driver team needs to step up. Raddys are great but they should work, right? (at least not just on windows… i was told too that games are for kids but that’s the only reason why i’m not 100% for linux).

not wanting to wait before a decent wp importer for txp comes out, i played around with a b2 import script and applied it to wp. got it working somehow though the import’s crippled: no cats, problem with the apostrophes, closed comments…

and now, i could enjoy having two blogs: wordpress and textpattern. i’ve set the import script to run every hour through cron so everything i type in here should be taken by txp. this will still be my main blog. like wtf, they’re still the same. i don’t know why i did this actually.

first, lemme express how grateful i am textpattern was created. i haven’t gone through all of the program yet, and i’m still getting used to textile. my site’s still not functional—no eye-candy CSS, okay, well it isn’t for me.

second, im extremely overjoyed to have passed ba99.2. i never knew i could even hit the 2.5 mark. that’s low, i know, but we’re talking of someone here who does not act like a BAA undergrad. someone who studies while in front of his computer, someone who’d never resist playing NFSunderground just because his mates are playing. next stop in my highway to accounting hell is ba114. well, to tell, hmm, 6 units, some three-quarters of the class failing every semester. ooh. welcome me. let them try if they can kick me out of the accounting and finance department. it would be fun. my friend jeremy has earlier suggested, having known the yearly misfortunes of students like us, to organize a study group, or anything related, just focused on ba 114. it seemed a nice idea and i thought that i could make a tutorial site online. something where i could upload reviewers and sample exams, at the very least.

that made me think. yep. one section of this site will be devoted to accounting.

i’m disgusted to have had an internal modem that’s crippled. its chipset’s made by conexant, the all famous rockwell i knew, and it has passed the development of its drivers on to linuxant, which then is releasing free drivers that could only work at 14.4kbps. i’ve installed mandrake 10 on 3 machines and i dont like it at all… KDE 3.2 looks and feels like windows. they call this linux? hehe.

rant: the mandrake installer installed the old 2.4 kernel, giving alibis of this and that, and i only found out later that the kernel source available on the CD was for 2.6. isn’t that great?

to answer the BW waste i always suffer every month, i’ve setup a script where anyone can upload anything at all…at sane file sizes.

This is one of the fewest times I can tell myself, If I only had the money… BTW, all summer, I always knew that stocks is the better option.

LOL. btw, winex still sucks. it still can’t play nfsu and nba live 2004. how can i live without windows?

well now that school has started, it would never i guess be the same for me, unless i want a life of a nuclear mech major. a nomad seeking a college – a new start. my ‘start’ came already though late a year ago, and at this point, there is no turning back. hence, a P500 deal i promise to pay my roommate if if fail a 6-unit major isn’t actually enough.

as of now, i’ve spent P 1800+ in books and i’m hoping to shell out another P 1900+ tom. and that still wouldn’t be all.

how’s everything actually? this acad year started with a terrible blow to us, baa majors, and everytime for the past few days, ‘nakakahiya’ was always coming from the mouths of my profs. the 48% cpa passing rate was to be severely dealt with, and we were promised that we’d be handled tougher than usual, which made me even worry more. so what if 60% is the mortality rate of a specific subject, should we expect it to increase drastically? we were told that certain subjects are actually made to eliminate the laggin ones in us. to add, my attorney professor in business law, assured us that 1/3 will not make it next semester…

and so the days ahead look tooo bleak for me, dark enough that eventually if ever i see light i wouldn’t be able see things with the same clarity and precision again.

for the first time in mt 3-year stay in the university, just this tuesday, i was able to make a record in making the first ever acquisition of a book from the lib. does it matter? well it does for me.

so it just seems proper that i devote one whole sem just for studying. ruining my life is still farthest from my options. so please pray for me.

sometimes i feel i’m only taking one subject this sem… 9 hours of BA 114 every week is hell. might wanna post a pic of my books just for that subject. cost me P3500… LOL.

before the end of last year’s semester, i told myself that i’d get a vid card or a cellphone replacement by summer end. it was just, i reckon, so improbable to raise 20k that my goals had to shift with time. i don’t want a radeon 9800 pro anymore… seemed nvidia has revived a new ‘ti 4200’ with its 6800 gt. who wouldn’t resist such a card that could do this? . I might get a 6800 now as inno, phil’s premier supplier of cheap cards has it already paraded on its site.

woke up early even if i slept late to finish my unfinished assignment… went back to my room cos i didn’t sleep there. my roommate was still lying on his bed at the top of our double deck and i lied at my bed below. one of my mates passed by our door which i haven’t closed and i told him that clark came last night with a new girl. he slept early and wasn’t able to see him. clark told me that the girl’s already thirty! looked too young though. my roommate heard us talking and joined in. they had a drinking spree last night, and he went to bed early. a moment later and the bed was already shaking, apparently clark must’ve thought my roommate was already sleeping. lol. the guts. but that’ clark. they soon were able to sleep after yet my roommate was awakened anew with the bed shaking again. they soon left afterwards… what they were thinking

i remember the time me and my friends knew only of the term ‘3d accelerator.’ it was supposed to be the royale, it would mean a perfect gaming environment. it was all binary. we never knew what they really were.

and so came my first ‘3d accelerator,’ a tnt2 m64 which rocked at about a little over a hundred mhz. of course it was too perfect for me, just because i didn’t know anything at all… just like a well frog who’d never even understand or embrace the concept of an ocean. from a 2d s3 card, the model i couldn’t really recall to a s3 trio/3d which couldn’t even do opengl to the m64, even if at resolutions of 640×480, call me stupid but i was too ecstatic. oh well. i was a n00b. nobody never was.

i never stopped liking em again. upgrade after upgrade… had real good times modding, ocing and benching! :) could only reach 4300+ in 3dmark 2003 though…

seeing scores of nvidia’s 6800 series at stock at about 10k was totally unbelievable but then with SLI tech i just saw, which allowed two cards to run as one, 20k was reached easily and it was soo sick i wanted to puke. i want to trash my computer. it feels soo neanderthal.

anyway, played max payne 2 again, my favorite game of all time. coded perfectly it just owns all others!

i feel like not coming to class. they’ll be giving back our scores that soon.

took me bout 30 mins to install Suse… with the lowest number of clicks comp to the other distros. definitely the easiest to install.

this day, my computer was up for 14 Hours, 43 Minutes, 40 Seconds, as what was said by my logs. more than 9 hours of it was spent for video encoding, when late this night i ran into an error. sigh.

for three seasons that i’ve stayed with the maroons on the court, i’ve got to admit that this 67th uaap season which marks the only one i won’t be probably seeing any live is the worst for the maroons.

just received the results of the second exam. 49/100, far too unaceptable when 69's passing. 9 made it, out of about a hundred, and was a little worse as only 10 made it at the first. accounting just don't want me, apparently. :( i get depressed at times, but when my life's at stake, i tremble. i run out of answers... simply i just want to quit. the third exam will be after the deadline for dropping and the instructions were clear: if we have to decide, we decide now.

My dad gave me a new phone while at home bedridden: I was sick for a few days. It was his HTC Tanager, or the first Smart Amazing Phone which he barely used. I don’t know if it was part of a birthday gift or me being sick, but he gave it anyway after also telling him that my 2 year old T68i’s (I was one with the first of these kinds and they totally owned) phone’s already dying (sort of). It’s not charging at times and the joystick’s good as dead.

Anyway, even if it’s old, I really like it, and being a Smartphone powered by Windows Mobile, it’s almost like a pocketpc which is almost like a PC. I’ve never had a smartphone before so I cannot compare it to others. Suffice to say, it has exceeded my expectations with all the software I was able to put in it, and I never thought that I could play FF3 again (I got a really nice SNES emulator) on a device so small. :)

what do i care anyway? i loved wordpress for a while but now i just like the fact that i’m with textpattern (for some reason). now it seems that wordpress will be more appealling to just anyone. i tried kubrick for my textpattern installation and it was nice… but i’m still up on my own long due style. and yep, Dean’s still preparing a theme engine for textpattern, so all my efforts would have to be postponed too till it comes.

edit: and i just found out that the newest build of wordpress 1.3alpha can activate kubrick with a click.

just tried out what i was saying before. downloaded the 9-22 build of wordpress which as of now is the most recent and immediately installed it. got a package of kubrick too which utilized the way themes are handled in wordpress (it has a new tab called Presentation). uploaded it at wp-content/themes and activated kubrick with a click. i do hope that the planned incorporation of kubrick will be like that.

last night, i accidentally deleted a mysql database. it contained four weblogs. and they weren’t mine.

so the great me was forced to insert everything again. aargh.

i think i’m suffering from RSI. already looked at the possible signs and symptoms, and they fit me. ive replaced my keyboard with a much more efficient one and have inclined the part that faces me. it really feels much nicer. i always believed that i’m right that keyboards have replaced the ‘incliner’ on the other part. trouble now is the layout. the backslash, quotation keys are remapped again!

made another reformat this night (i cannot be arsed to work on a machine which to my knowlege generates much waste). first time that i planned on settling with star office 7, a paid version of open office. and the first file that i opened was a grade worksheet given to us by my teacher in BA 182. and it being password protected couldn’t be opened. oh well.

just got bored this afternoon and thought of inserting domo-kuns cos i find them wee-wee nice.

my 80gig hd is already crying for help. got one of my old hard-disk back and will be reinstalling suse 9.1pro tonight. i guess this PC will only be used as a workstation from now on. it’s too old for any games i like anyway… a few years ago i was crying on how high i could everything in this box, today it’s just a joke. (my monitor and printer are just not oc-able.) just waiting for a replacement. i pray.

after more than 5 years, i finally had the chance to open the doors of a place i once called home. who’d never thought? it was summer of 99, we’d prepare again to live half of my school break at nueva ecija. it was different for my mother had already been there, away from the harms of the suburb. it was a return trip for her, a welcome to the comforts of her homeland. she needed rest. it was supposed to be her last. a few days, she eventually succumbed. we had no choice. we locked everything in the house. we didn’t know whats to happen. there was no reason to come back. i buried my pains in that house…

it was the fruits of our paintng of it that gave mama her cancer.

when we entered this evening, the air was heavy. i wanted to cry. i remembered how hard it was. tomorrow we’ll be visiting her grave, the one and only reason we keep coming back here. year after year, i never liked it, i never felt her presence. those were her dead bones. those arent her.

this day and on this day as declared starting today, is the reunion of the grandchildren of my mom’s parents. the bond was forever broken by my mother’s death, and we’re striving to bring it back, no matter how damaged it is.

i had a great night…with my niece and nephews though. my cousins are already too old for me. mama was the baby back then thats why.

oh, i have a very beautiful niece named gena.

im going back to school again. if not for an embarrassing mistake four years ago this could’ve been my last semester, just like dona. she and most of my friends will be leaving soon. i can smell the agony already.

my first impression? definitely, one of the slickest templates i’ve ever seen. as i like my designs as nice and simple as i can take them, manji is godsend. everything was coded with proper semantics in mind, something anyone can expect from the creators. (as of now though, Root has alraedy disappeared online, i do he’s still fine) i’ll be configuring the style thoroughly once the final version comes out sometime this week. it shall be at the frontpage of my domain.

papa bought us a new computer for christmas. we needed a replacement for our home computer which is already too obsolete. it was my first computer bought when i went to college:

850 MHz Athlon Thunderbird CPU(Central Processing Unit) with 512 MB PC 133 of SDRAM(Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory) and a not so impressive Geforce 2 MX 400 which was actually replaced twice and now is already a stinking SIS 305 which only runs shite games like Ragnarok.

i was able to select the parts:

* Athlon 64 2800+ running at 1.8 GHz
* ECS Radeon 9800XT and
* a stick of PC 3200 256 DDR(Double Data Rate) memory.
* a nice case that really suited my taste. had mouse, keyboard, etc with it.

what's sad is that the heavy weight and true leader of gaming of tomorrow is now just a not-so-great mainstream performer. this however just disappoints:

last sunday, i bought parts for a new computer at the branch of PCX in ATC, just as what i had earlier posted. After summing everything up, he looked disappointed and told me that i would be better off with a pentium 4, saying they already have Pentium 4 LGA-775s. he must have thought that i’m up to no good with the A64. i told him i do read benches and facts from coutless sites and i know whats real, fast and whats not. but he didn’t care. funny thing too is those people still call the athlons at their clock speeds (2.8Ghz for example for my purchase). well so i just shut my mouth. i wanted to tell him that the A64 was faster clock-for-clock and it was in fact running at 1.8GHz. i could have told him a lot more but i decided not to.

next he told me to change my vid card. for a whole lot less he said, the x600 and the fx5750 are all better than my choice. why? because they’re all PCI-express versions, and that they’re at 16x compared to AGP’s 8x. (i thought at that moment that he prolly reads boxes) they’d utilize PCI-e’s bigger bandwiths. okay, that just had to stop. i could’ve just told him that in terms of bandwith, if today’s AGP is a 2 lane highway, PCI-Es would support 4 lanes. but then the radeon9800xt would be a monster truck covering all on the 2 lane hw and the 5750/x600 would be a tricycle on the 4 lane.

last year too, i bought a radeon 9500 on anohter PCX but at the shaw branch. the one in charge told me that the radeons are the best cards because even Dell uses them for their desktops.

well the story on my sunday purchase isn’t over. the guy told me to wait for 45mins to an hour to set everything up. i paid at 11am and it was released at 1:10pm. WOW. someone booted it up to see if the setup was fine. then it was transferred to the releasing section and my G. i wanted to smack the monitor i saw on a table to the employee when he told me that they were sorry to have installed the wrong motherboard. “Sandali lang po, upo muna kayo, saglit lang to.” Gusto ko na talaga magmura.

i got what i bought at 10 before 2pm.

i posted my previous entry at PEX and boy, i received a lot of comments with similar experiences at PCX.

darn. i agree. the geniuses go to the MNtechCs and those forced to be sales reps are those you’d have to teach yourself. this is what we have to be accustomed in the Philippines.

i actually laughed at jhoui’s comment. the doctor did in fact asked me “ikaw ba e gumamit ng babae?!” with the most serious face that could make you smile. hehe :)

i’ve got two sides aching since yesterday however. i jumped off a bus while it was still moving. it shouldn’t be a problem as i always do it to save time (!) but a protruding metal part of a bus hit me on my right. it really pained me but it’ll go away.

well i was at about 800 the other day at g3 but today i got it to emulate at 944MHz... and on a g4! boot time is now at 1 minute and 23 seconds. :)

even if for the records, this could have been the worst year of all for my country… people are hardly spending (oh the nightmare of economists), less decorations, lots of robberies… aargh.

i wish everyone, though there’ll still be a lot less fortunate who can’t, have a wonderful christmas.

this noon, we were invited by a relative celebrating a ‘despedida’ party. right after eating my stomach started aching. i didn’t mind it at first but it soon became unbearable. i readily bid goodbye and went home. the trip home was horrible as it was really excruciating… i threw up everything i ate and took 2 kremil-s/es and i just forced myself to sleep as it didn’t go away no matter what i tried to do.

no i’ve just woken up… the pain’s still there. but it feels a little better. i’ve been invited there several times already but there is no way i’m ever going back. there is also no way i’m eating oysters again.

For the past week, i’ve been taking my sister’s vitamins (Cherifer) because i forgot to take home my bottle when i left knl for the xmas vacation. early this evening while i was about to take another, i noticed something written in the capsule… i don’t remember seeing it when i was taking Cherifer four years ago. i checked the back of the capsule leaf and OMG! IT WAS A DIFFERENT DRUG!

i’ve yet to finish half-life 2 (ok so some finished it a day or too, i don’t have that amount of time) and i’ve already bought this game: Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines. i must say i was kinda swayed to buying it after most of fm’ers seem to like it. it was so long too since i last played an rpg, and it uses the source engine which is pretty interesting. tried it last night, and i let my cousin play it this morning on my comp. he’s pretty impressed. i just hope i get to finish both of them before classes resume… it just runs like crap sometimes on my computer. and the stuttering is still prevalent. i wish i could get a gig of the new oczs.

and yeah. it’s the rpg of the year on IGN and voodooextreme. if i still have time, i’d get riddick. seems it has attracted a lot and has garnered pretty nice ratings. came out of nowhere too. but then i haven’t finished any of the games i brought home: KOTOR, spc: pandora tomorrow, jedi knight academy… and a lot. i mean a whole lot more. shame i have a truckload. they can seem to wait. i tried battlefield 1942 (a game i never got to run decent on my crappy 9600) and its graphics already sucks. technology can’t really wait. :)

well since almost all concerned with their sites have already mentioning over and over how they love web standards and accessibility and why theres a need for it, i’ve devoted a little section on it, at the bottom of my menu.

and i’m really pleased. of course it’s still not perfect. i must admit WAI compliance is the most ridiculously stringent of all and it’s overkill for a simple blog. i’ll never reach AAA, at least i’m sure. :)

nah. with the tremendous success of the ipods apple will be introducing small form-factor macs, like the shuttle for the pcs or the g4 cubes sometime ago, for a lot less… $500! :)

to my question: probably not… yet. it’s still much more expensive. you can assemble a decent pc for $300 here.

i’m back at my house in UP. i guess i had a lot to think about while still alone, preparing for the school days again. vacation has really caught me and i have to stop getting used to it. i mean it. lot of catching up to do. i swear i’ve not even read more than a chapter in some of my books.

to just say it in another way, i’ll just try to be different and this time, really get and stay on track. so no more computers? nah. that can’t be helped. at least i know what my problem is… and i can have peace knowing if i’ve improved my control if i really could.

i fixed something at dnuevo.net (which i had to hack actually for the mean time) and upgraded to a nightly of wp only to notice that the version jumped to 1.5. on the dev blog was a funny entry detailing the reason.

great. i’ve been out for days already and we’ve not finished yet our case report in 141. to any BA undergrad who can read this… this could probably be the worst thing you could do in a sem:

take ba 101, 105, 141, 115 and 170 (and all will require you make presentations). at least i don’t have some. :) some ind. eng. undergrads were also just pwned during a presentation last tuesday. apparently, they haven’t experienced doing something like it before and the rest was just traumatizing. i mean it.

so that explains why we’re just that afraid of what could happen. tomorrow to us.

on the other side, CE tambay week’s just not for me as i can’t really devote that much time. add the fact that i’ve just gotten an invitation from a fraternity (trivia: it has not had rumbles for 81 years of existence) and i’ve been already oriented… even if i told them i didn’t want to. really.

i cannot anymore stress enough why i need an upgrade soon. i’m just literally pushing this old pc to its limits. the p4 wilamette was marginally faster than the p3 but clock for clock, it blows. performance just plain sucks. a few batch actions in photoshop and i’m already killing it. like right now. and i ate so much this night my stomach’s about to burst. well just a few days ago, i bought it a dvd burner and i’m yet to use it. i’ll be doing a multiboot DVD when i’m free which won’t happen anytime soon.

received a project too from my committee. i’m supposed to turn hundreds of stolen shots from the last midsem genmeet into a decent looking poster. without almost anything in the shots that could be used nicely, i have turned into the ultimate solution… a photomosaic. and that’s what’s making it weep right now. sniff sniff

with the funny 1985 pose of bill gates circulating around, i thought that i wanted to contribute something that only BA people could probably understand. just found this out today… after all the last shots i saw of this man was from his early years… wtf. i was really surprised.

that goes two-fold. i just got the chance to try CS source with the new supported bots and i just realized how unlucky i am to have only dial-up. first things first, anyway. i don’t need yet another monthly bill. why was our country’s internet structure designed so horrible that we couldn’t pattern now ourself to korea?

sick. i remembered my experience yesterday. walked my way from recto to soler to ongpin to buy the movie. i saw lots of guys crowding on the side of the street so i decided to walk by the road, a little near the passing vehicles. when i was on my way home, i made the mistake of walking into that crowd.

it was hell. guys were negotiating prices of newly stolen cellphones. i couldn’t stomach what i was seeing and i immediately held on my pockets. i was carrying two cellphones and it was still there… but i never took it out till i got home.

so i’m back. really. i don’t know what has gotten me to write all of a sudden at this time of hour. i’ve had the chance to write a lot earlier, but i didn’t.

so what really happened?

about three weeks ago, we moved to a new house somewhere in Teachers Village. everything but the telephone line had to go. we were cut off for a few weeks before i was able to file an application and it to be executed.

what was life without getting online for weeks? i didn’t care really. har. until the day i tried surfing the net while at my college library. i found this account suspended and i panicked. i thought of what i could do… but then the college library has abysmal win98 powered comps and i was not allowed to install anything so i couldn’t use messenger to load a conversation with the owner of my host. i couldn’t enter gmail too to try find out if i received anything about the situation. nice.

i found myself looking outside for computer rental stores… and it was awfully weird for me doing that. i got to talk with marvin finally and i found out that my account has been eating too much resources thanks to my cgi scripts. dammit. i was only given the option of backed up databases and they eventually wiped out everything.

and the moment i received what i wanted, i could already surf the net at home but i snapped. it was the odd feeling of sudden remorse from total happiness having opened a gold-laced gift… i didn’t want to care much bout my site yet.

until now perhaps… when i have nothing much to do anyway. my life has been molded and compounded like clay, taking one part of me simulatenously through all sorts of ways. i’ve never been bombarded with commitments… even now, i’m still due to visit a large supermarket to gather data for marketing class… then create the ultimate presentation for law class with data collected when we went to the securities and exchange commission… attend tomorrow’s CE alumnight… come up with a marketing plan and analye some ink refilling company we all know of its strategic marketing strategies… the lots i can remember as of now, due all either monday or the few days after.

just this week… i never quite thought that i could be taking applications for summer internship seriously. filling dozens of application forms, some with essays is no joke. i’ve just finished an exam by p&g this afternoon.

for all these that i can remember now on what has bothering my life… i feel that i’ve been spending lesser time being at home. with my baby and the usual rites we both shared.

i’m missing a lot that i probably do not even know.

and so with all that has been said, i regret that i could not launch this again the same way it always was… my theme i named Donita should be gone for the meantime, even my baby thinks i really ought to start anew, which i just can’t. probably if i had more time, which from my definition falls on every summer vacation or sem break… i can refocus my energies on working again on this.

a lot probably (well of course) don’t work yet but i’ll be fixing jhoui’s blog site tomorrow. how depressed i really am.

just found out that as of feb17, my college has been fitted with access points by DILNET. hurrah! the sad part: i belong to the 9 in 10 who are too poor to have mobile comps. how i wish my phone has wifi. i’d give up the bluetooth.

this afternoon, before i got back to UP, my father showed to me a Gameboy Advance SP my aunt gave him. it was eventually given to me. how grateful of him. funny thing was… i seem to be not much interested. not that there are nintendo DSes around, but i just couldn’t picture myself using it with such joy like the little kid i was. remembering the old days, back in the 90s. elementary. i had the original gameboy when i was seven. i’d always tell my mom to buy game cartridges for me whenever she gets out. gameboy was the pringles of our field trips. all my friends have one. and i don’t know how i got off the addiction. it just happened. my GBA SP’s red and is sitting on top of a table here. i might try it tomorrow. maybe its fun rekindling my childhood… anyway, gameboys are for adults too. :)

what was it like being a Catholic during my days?

it was nice.
we get to go church on sundays.
at times i didn’t like to go.
we pray the rosary numerous times.

and as i grew up, i got to meet people that for someone else’s sake have caused us to be divided even if we ultimately were made to believe in one God… just because of interpretations and personal claims.

i got to know the feeling what was it to be attacked, why we worship statues, why we don’t do baptism the right way, why we have indulgences… we all Catholics were made to answer for the Spanish priests whom have severely raped the nation. i got attacked, asking why we believe in a pope they regard the anti-christ. and lo, watch the TV. look how Mr. Soriano preaches and tells the nation why, even using Catholic examples as proof, the pope is the anti-christ.

right now, i know that i’m not a devout Catholic, but i still have reserved the utmost respect for the pope. someone, as a man, i’ve always praised and admired. someone who has led by preaching and forgiving… and not by criticizing others in the hopes that faults may be found and at the end of the day, will be the victor.

no matter what, please respect us for what we believe in, okay?

that’s CE’s planning sem i’m talking about. not that i expect it to be boring somewhat, but it’s supposed to be my first and last. four days and four nights, they’ll think over what they’ll have to tell people like me on the postplanning sem affair (basically for people who won’t go).

i’d just like to tell everyone not to take the globe offer seriously and i’d like to clear things a bit. i’m not from globe and i can’t deal with any of your problems regarding the promo…

..which i believe, if rumors are true, will last until only the 7th of april, which is only 25 full hours from now. also, apparently, globe tries to limit your requests (the 300 you send to 2870) to 15 a day. anything sent beyond is sent to globe’s official recycle bin. er. assuming this is also true but as per none has claimed or prove the contrary then i believe… what i want to believe. :)

okay. getting things done to end this semester… i’m still a major paper short in marketing. i now try to ask why i find it so hard to write during the last few months. i don’t know why it felt uneasy trying- as if the opportunity cost of a few minutes for study was really that great.

just this early evening, i just suddenly decided to do a reformat again. windows installatoin hasn’t been up for 2 months and i just wanted to do something. finally had the chance to load all apps from the open cd to fill up the first apps to grace this old stupid willamette. and this hack that turns thegimp’s interface into PS’s will finally make me want to use that product. i’ve stayed a while even trying to use Paint.NET to do editing. installed Thunderbird too as Opera’s m2’s somehow un-indexable by my desktop search progs. doesn’t matter that much though.

which makes me want to remember a few days just before last week ended. time again came and i had to renew this domain and the webhosting account. shelled a few thousand and i am just officially broke before this week started. i got a text message from my dad telling me that i exceeded our agreed limits with regard to my phone bill. so much for now. i don’t talk much usually but i just wanted this time. time to hit the showers!

what’s special bout this day?

a. it’s my first day as a summer intern at citibank
b. i had less than 3 hours of sleep prior one ‘busy’ day

while it would seem that excitement caused b, as i had really long wanted to work this summer for this company which is actually the world’s largest bank, what’s special’s that i seem to have suddenly lost it all right after a day. typical to a child the moment a christmas gift is opened. but this… could be just of a lot of factors. could just be tired. this isn’t happening. and tomorrow i pray that it’ll be really different.

and just right now, i found out that my org, CE’s website has to be launched ASAP. wow. i haven’t told them that i needed the money first, but will do now.

no matter what, the moment i find myself with time to finally make the overhaul of this site is the time i’ll get back writing really meaningful entries again.

i got a mail this day telling me that 2 of my domains have expired and i got scared for a few seconds only to find out that the records aren’t just updated. quite funny heh.

is it just me but i’m getting tired sort of maintaing a site and i attribute it somehow to the ubiquitous blogs everywhere. friendster has one now too. i don’t know. maybe i’ve just run out of ideas, maybe.

1. the fastest elevator in any building in the country is in citibank tower, as i was told. i had long wondered why it was unusually fast and going down just from the 11th to the ground floor in a blink always fills my ears with pressure, sort of like when i’m in a plane. guess how i feel whenever i come down from the top or the 34th.

2. i lost my globe sim during dona’s grad ceremony last sunday… lucky son of a to whoever got it. don’t ask me how, i was playing with a kid when i lost it.

3. maybe they’ll not realize it first, but my assessment of my work tells me that i’m so far behind based on my time table that i might be ending the program not finishing the work stated in my job description. if only one stupid government agency had been doing its job well…

i never thought that i could enjoy experiencing the perks of being an intern. never thought too that we’d (my fellow interns) be taught lessons the hard way. it’s just me, but i take scoldings by heart, even if work related. they just couldn’t see it the way we do. welcome to the real world. at least we were consoled by employees whom have stood the ultimate ‘beating’ for years.

i left house early this day hoping i could get to work to somehow lessen my load. i wouldn’t be doing anything the whole holiday and as my hopes were up, i got to the bank in almost just an hour, i was stopped, as if seeing the whole building wasn’t lighted well as usual, i wasn’t allowed past the reception desk. dear me. the whole of ayala this morning was a ghost town too. i had taken a few pics cos it was really exuberating seeing such a site. what a promdi i am.

the wacko in me decided that i’d just go to a mate to fix his spyware infested computer. was still early and as per his request, i went out to buy a mouse… which unfortunately, due to the fact again that no shops were open yet, i decided to go to gilmore. i just need to keep myself mobile, i didn’t want to wait for the shops at ayala to open, and taking roundtrips via mrt seemed not like a good idea.

gilmore… i remembered suddenly quiapo and virramall. whereas i always get the nagging “Ser, iks, dibidi, bisidi!” while in those two, guys at gilmore are quick on the other hand to offer you pricelists wherever you are. wow, as if this is really novel. i got a 200 peso optical mouse which my mate and everyone in his house really liked and a 512MB PC2700 stick for my baby. now she could play sims2 seriously.

got to where i should be fixing the computer and it was smooth sailing for the first few hours. oh webber was too stupid to have steered sixers to a loss. har. it got real ugly and scary when an old raddy9200 which i’ve always told him to replace acted worse than a real defective card. remember the saying blindness is worse than death? lost my patience as i tried doing everything, repeating over and over things i’ve already done and got the card working with proper drivers in three hours. and i dind’t do anything special, it somehow gave in.

oh. got home and went to collect the laundry and a few hours later, found out that my money for the week plus a few grand in extra my father gave me was missing. tried looking everywhere. sometimes, panicking really doesn’t help. i found it later, after a few hours on my bed. and about my title, it’s the first words the hitch hiker’s guide to the galaxy tells you right? my baby gave me the book as a present this weekednd… :) how really nice and sweet. i wish we could get the movie here too as well.

and with that, i’ve made history in my years of blogging having detailed a whole day of my life, more or less.

this is the first morning i woke up feeling alright. getting sick seemed to be getting worse for me as years go by. even taking loads of multivitamin if it really helps me does not help at all. i just went out of the cititower to go to another building then went back… the hot-cold-hot-cold atmosphere really knocked me. i was sick right after a few hours. it was tuesday, the first day of my work this week, and the fever went away just this morning.

what in the world? i was going to work even if sick (which made my mates make me go home, afraid they’ll be sick soon too, infected)... i wasn’t able to do anything worthwile at home. computer’s dead for a few days. but i’m glad i’ll be finishing the book soon. and i got my first pay. LOL. at 300 a day… it’s measly for a real work but it’s on better than what most summer internships provide and higher than the minimum wage.

anyway, i was bored and took this pic. what i see everyday from my room. pretty dull.

-YODA!- R2D2! had the chance to watch episode iii and i'd be honest to say that it just somehow didn't meet my expectations. amusing how such a nice highly touted installment could be ruined by a terrible script. the effects were astounding but nothing was novel. lightsabers weren't that amazing anymore... same goes to yoda, who saved episode ii from total disaster. for that... R2D2 for me should win the best actor/actress/acting whatever award. anyway, just this monday, i was assigned to another job that should last for two weeks. i didn't leave my previous job entirely for i voluntarily asked that i continue doing it. i guess it's funny now i see the problem we we've always had now i've had something to compare to. :)

it was officially ended this day, the 27th of may, 2005. six weeks of real citibank work, six weeks which i didn’t really enjoy to be honest, except for my last weeks with my new unit. substantially, i was a part of hr-administration, and i feel for my co-interns always optimistic that the program is soon to end. we had the most laborious work, and this i and several others could attest… and all the while, we felt they weren’t grateful enough. everyone was busy and we were seen as additional problem. we were there to help iron out problems but we need to be supervised first how… and that’s how they failed us. it is too disheartening for a fellow intern to pity us for she enjoyed her whole experience.

i won an award by the way, for being an exemplary intern. i had been doing 2 jobs at the same time, hoping to break the cliche on catching two rabbits. my boss was impressed of course, and for that, i am extending for a few days more next week.

but this time, i’ll be back working alone, back to my former unit. thinking about this now has shifted my view. isn’t it gratifying to realize that you’ve forever changed the lives of a lot of people? i hate having to miss a lot. i might not never see again most of them, and it was just yesterday that we knew so each other we were beginning to feel sick of it. i guess i was wrong. i appreciated the experience after all.

oh… anyone heard of lightpress? never knew about it til i saw a blogtool benchmark. hope it lands on wordpress.

why the hell do i not care that much anymore? i went home having enlisted 0 units. i could never take back 5 hours of wasted time again. just what’s wrong with the system this time? it was already 2:30 and not one has been served.

last trip to citibank tomorrow. will get my final pay, and surrender my security pass. i might never come back again. it was only yesterday…

because of this… i’m folding again!

What is this? I created this last post just to show an archive of all my posts. This blog’s already kaputt and it’s close to useless if I’ll take the time to repair everything. Archive only works if i do it this way.

Anyway, I don’t look at my archives normally but after having done this made me learn something interesting. My first recorded post was at Jan 8, 2004. I started late but it was not my first blog post. I started with some CMSes but ended up losing what I wrote all the time as I kept changing blogs. That Jan 8 post I made was when I was still using WP. May 24 was when I started using Textpattern. Posts before May 24 were just converted entries…
